WIZARD FAQ

What is the computer vision wizard tool?

Computer Vision is a complex technology with numerous options, and one-size simply doesn’t fit all. We created this tool to help interested parties to determine which provider can best meet the specific needs of their project.

Why should I use this wizard?

As we said in the first answer, Computer Vision is not only complex, but very broad. It is also not naturally adaptable, so just because a solution can meet one specific need, it does not mean it can meet other needs equally well or at all. One provider may also not have some key features that are critical for a particular application. The wrong choice in technology or provider could therefore mean many wasted weeks or months before discovering that the solution is not a right fit.

With this tool, you can quickly and easily discover which of four top computer vision providers will best meet your specific needs. We researched and compared VISUA’s offering to Amazon Rekognition, Google Cloud Vision, and Microsoft Azure. So in as little as 2 minutes you can get a recommendation based on your specific use case and needs.

How does it work?

The computer vision wizard asks a short series of questions related to the various aspects of typical projects that require computer vision. Each solution is compared against each answer given. At the end a summary page is shown with a rating for each solution against your requirements and links to each provider’s own website.

Which computer vision providers are included?

For this wizard we have researched Amazon Rekognition, Google Cloud Vision, Microsoft Azure and VISUA Visual-AI.

Is there any documentation I can read for myself?

Absolutely, the computer vision wizard was developed after in-depth research on the main providers. You can find the direct comparison guides here.

Is this an independent tool?

This wizard was developed by the VISUA team and so it is not independently developed. However, we have been as diligent as possible to ensure that it is as objective and accurate as possible in the results it provides.

We evaluated the other solutions based on publicly available information from the providers’ own websites and other resources.  We also understand that technology is ever evolving. Therefore, should any of this information seem incorrect we would ask you to contact us at [email protected].

How accurate is this wizard?

We would like to say that, at the time of release, we would stand behind the results 100%. We are very confident that, given the extensive research and reviews of the computer vision providers included, the results can be relied upon. However, our research was based on publicly available information from the providers’ own websites and other resources. As such, and given the constant evolution of technology, we would recommend that the results given by this wizard are treated as a guide, and individuals should reach out to individual providers to confirm any points where doubts may exist.

Finally, if any errors or omissions are identified, we will quickly and happily remedy them. Simply email [email protected] with details.

What is computer vision?

Computer Vision is a specialized field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. It allows computer systems to analyze visual media (images and video) and extract key insights.

Visual data is inherently unstructured, containing an almost limitless amount of possible insights in each image. Computer Vision unlocks these data points and converts them into structured data that can then be further analyzed and cross-referenced to deliver important research and business insights.

Computer Vision seeks to emulate the human vision/brain system, which is able to identify objects and elements in an image instantly, but also enhance it with machine speed, allowing the processing/analysis of visual media in volumes that would be impossible for an army of humans to match.

Is Computer Vision the same as Visual-AI and Vision-AI?

Yes, Computer Vision, Vision-AI and Visual-AI are different names for the same technology. However, different providers may have a different slant on the use for the underlying technology, which makes it better to accomplish one task versus another.

For this reason, every solution and provider should be assessed against each required use cases, and that’s why we built this tool.

What should I do if I see an error or omission?

We worked very hard and diligently to try to make this tool completely accurate and reliable. However, technology constantly evolves and we reviewed publicly available resources only.

Therefore, should you find an error or any form of omission, please do inform us immediately at [email protected]. We will then immediately review and correct our information as required.
